As a manufacturing company, being a responsible member of a community means operating safe and clean manufacturing plants and providing career opportunities for our employees.
But it goes beyond that. In addition, it means that we help organizations who make life better for people less fortunate. At GemSeal, our company and employees support worthy causes such as KinderMourn, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Toys for Tots, and the ALS Knights.
The following is an update on our outreach thus far in 2017:
Earlier this year in April, we sponsored KinderMourn’s 13th Annual HOPE FLOATS Duck Race at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC, on Sunday, April 30th. Thousands of citizens lined the banks of the main channel along the Catawba River to watch 20,000 adopted rubber duckies brave the rapids towards the finish line. The funds raised by this event help provide support and counseling programs for parents, children, and teens suffering with bereavement issues.
On August 19, GemSeal is sponsoring the 29th Annual Great Gatsby Gala in Charlotte which benefits the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Carolinas Chapter. Over 500 guests will relive the days of the roaring 20’s with live entertainment, swing dancing, tasting stations from celebrated Charlotte restaurants, and a silent auction.
Beginning in October through Christmas, all regional GemSeal manufacturing facilities will hold a toy drive to benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. And, for the fifth year in a row, employees in Atlanta, Millbury/Worcester, and other GemSeal locations will host a luncheon for customers in early December to raise awareness and Christmas donations for the program. As in past years, the toys will be collected and distributed to hundreds of children in the surrounding community just in time for the holiday.
